On Friday night, a large earthquake struck close to Marrakesh – the deadliest earthquake Morocco has experienced since 1960. Thousands have been killed and injured, especially in remote villages in the Atlas mountains which are difficult for rescue workers to access. Huge numbers have also been left homeless and vulnerable.
